12oz Barebow Shield Weighted Damper

The 12oz Barebow Shield Weighted Damper offers barebow shooters a modular mounting platform to control the center of gravity (up/down, left/right, forward/backward) and total mass weight of their bow while allowing them to do so with any 5/16-24 thread size weights they choose to use.

Features six different weight mounting locations, and can easily hold up to 24+ oz of weights (34+ oz including the shield weight).

This weight allows the archer to create a lower center of gravity without clamping the weights to the riser and distorting the riser's flex during the shot.

Package includes: one 12oz Barebow shield weight, one 1in stainless steel black nitride socket head screw and washer.

Book 3, Article 11.4.6.1 and Book 4, Article 22.3.6.1Pioneer Archery Designs LLC (DBA RamRods Archery) has requested an interpretation with respect to the following wording: “We request confirmation that this product is a powder vibration dampener, and as such can have weights attached to it and be legal to use with attached weights in the Barebow division of Target, Field and 3D Archery”.The Constitution and Rules Committee finds the question presented to be within the terms of reference of the Technical Committee.The Constitution and Rules Committee has determined that the following interpretation is not contrary to the existing rules or Congress decisions.The following is the decision of the Technical Committee:The décision of the Technical Committee is that the accessory shown in Pictures A & B is legal for use in the Barebow division.Book 3 article 11.4.6.1 and Book 4 article 22.3.6.1 state that dampeners may be attached directly to the riser. The method of dampening vibration is not specified or restricted. Typical methods for dampening vibration involve the use of rubber or synthetic rubber, however other materials such as plastics, fluids or powders may also be used.It should be noted that, according to the articles listed above, the vibration dampener with any weights attached must pass through the 12.2 cm (+/- 0.5 mm) ring without moving, turning or flexing the vibration dampener, and must not aid the athlete in aiming or ranging in any way.
